Jo Ann devoted her semester to partnering with Meaghan Morrish, a Project Coordinator for the Manitoba Federation of Non-Profit Organizations, on a project called Career Explorations. The goal of this project was to inspire youth and young professionals to consider a career in the non-profit sector. With over 100 000 employees in the non-profit sector in Manitoba in more than 8000 organizations, there are an abundance of career paths available for people who share a common vision of making a difference in our communities.  The goal of the Career Explorations initiative is to share this message with Manitoba youth.

In June of 2018, Jo Ann assisted the launch of CareerExplorations.ca, the official website, and @CareerExplorations on Instagram. Both will be used as tools to engage and inspire youth who are in search of a career where their skills and values align. To prepare for the launch, Jo Ann contributed her knowledge as a young student to strengthen the website and social media content.

At the start of her semester, Jo Ann facilitated a focus group comprised of her peers to assess the knowledge that youth today have about careers in the non-profit sector. With this information, she then created an animated video script for the landing page of the official website. In addition, she assisted in the start of a new marketing campaign on Instagram, to feature different career opportunities in the non-profit sector of Winnipeg.
